How Can your coaching help me?
My coaching can help you gain a new perspective on your personal and business life. I can help you to prioritize the things that are most important, create an action plan to achieve your goals and ensure you take the necessary steps to succeed.
Mark Are You a Therapist or Coach?
The true is both; I have training in life coaching and I am a Licensed Psychotherapist. In my coaching practice I utilize various aspects of my extensive training in psychological sciences, human potential, assessments and understanding of human behavior to assist you in forwarding your life towards your dreams, goals and objectives.
What is The Difference Between coaching and therapy?
A coach works with those whose lives are already working and who want to achieve a level of accomplishment, fulfillment, achievement, balance and prosperity that they have yet to produce on their own.
As a coach I do not spend time exploring the past to find root causes for suffering and discomfort but rather focus on the here and the now, your vision for the future, and what action steps will need to be taken to achieve your objectives as rapidly as possible.
I have spent considerable amount of time educating myself in both the clinical and spiritual arena. This combination enabled me to understand each person as a whole rather than a “problem or diagnosis.” I believe each person has the answers inside of themselves, and part of my role is to assist you in finding them.
Do you use spiritual concepts in your coaching?
Yes. Spirituality, not religion, is significant aspect in my coaching practice. I believe that if I neglect the spiritual side of an individual as it relates to their goals, the outcome will feel less fulfilling and authentic to them. I meet the client where they are on their spiritual path and incorporate it into their plan moving forward.
Do you have a coach or use a Life Coach?
I strongly believe in coaching, and I would not feel right about promoting or even working with clients if I was not receiving coaching myself. I have a coach I work with on a regular basis and my life is far better off because of it. I realized if the best of the best – from Michael Jordan to Tom Hanks – used coaches, maybe I would be better off with one. I am.
My coach is able to see things I often do not. He encourages me to question things I may be inclined to avoid or simply not see. He gently challenges me, supports me and keeps me accountable, even when I don’t feel like it. Yes I have a coach too.
I am not the expert in your life, you are. You are the expert and I am your coach.
Can You Explain The Coaching Process?
The International Coaching Federation define coaching as: “Coaching is partnering with clients in a thought provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal; and professional potential. Coaching honors the client as the expert in his/her field and work and believes that every client is creative, resourceful and whole.”
As your coach I ask you questions to assist you in clarifying your goals and objectives. Once you have a clear vision of what your life will look like when you achieve your goals and have achieved success we will begin creating a detailed plan on what steps you will need to complete to get to where you want to go. This plan will include action steps, which you will be encouraged to take to rapidly forward your life.
How long will coaching take?
Truthfully, it’s entirely up to you. I work with clients on a month-to-month basis. Neuroscience has found it takes on average 28 days to change a neuropathway in the brain for lasting change. With life coaching, however, depending on what you intend to achieve, we will be working on changing multiple neuropathways and this often demands more from a client–90 days on average. And again, it’s completely up to you. Clients continue their coaching sessions for as long as they feel they are receiving value or until they reach their goals.
How often are my coaching sessions scheduled?
This is up to you too. Some of my clients like to talk with me on a weekly basis especially during the first several months; others find that one or two sessions each month is perfect for effectively meeting their needs. This is something we can certainly discuss during your first consultation. Then based on your time availability and your specific objectives, you’ll easily be able to determine what schedule works best for you. Your sessions are flexible. They can be done over the phone or face to face if you are local.
How long is a coaching session?
Sessions are typically 45 minutes. Between sessions to strengthen your forwarding potential I strongly encourage you to keep me in the loop regarding your progress, set backs and successes. If any you have any questions between sessions send me an email I will reply promptly and respond to your specific questions or concerns.
How do we get started?
Send an e-mail with your contact information or call me at 951-733-0891 and we’ll schedule a convenient time for discovery conversation. Just talking. No pressure or selling. I want you to feel comfortable with me as your coach and if it’s not me then I want to help you find an appropriate referral. This is about your life and I want to do everything I can to assist in making the best possible for you.
